About RiverWise
"RiverWise" is a new initiative of the Hudson River Maritime Museum to help Hudson Valley residents (and beyond) understand and appreciate the Hudson River and its role in history and American society. Combining virtual programs, documentary films, online classes, hands-on activities, and a series of virtually-accessible voyages down the Hudson River, the museum is partnering with other organizations to bring the Hudson River to life. The goal of the initiative is to ensure that Hudson River Valley residents of all ages are "RiverWise" - meaning they understand the unique features and history of the river.
About the North Hudson Voyage
In the spring of 2020, with the threat of COVID-19 forcing the curtailment of education programs on the Hudson River, the Hudson River Maritime Museum and Schooner Apollonia have planned a demonstration sail from Albany, NY to Kingston, NY. Providing first-hand access to the water to the general public through live and pre-recorded videos and virtual educational programs, the two vessels will introduce the general public to the Hudson River first-hand.
The North Hudson Voyage will took 6 days, from June 20 through the 27th, 2020. Apollonia and Solaris provided virtual educational programming to the general public from Albany, NY to Kingston, NY.

About the South Hudson Voyage
With the success of the North Hudson Voyage, the Hudson River Maritime Museum's solar boat Solaris and the Schooner Apollonia are once again embarking on a great adventure, collecting film footage and interviews and telling stories live via social media along the way. Taking approximately 12 days to travel from Kingston, NY to New York Harbor and back again, the South Hudson Voyage will cover the remaining Hudson River.
